Dear friends,
Silent Night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. The Christmas Carol “Silent Night” was written in 1918.
My prayer for you this Christmas,
May there be a calm-ness among us all, a setting down of any anger and simply breathing in Christmas.
May the Holy Infant, innocent and vulnerable, remind us that God’s power, the real power in the world, arrives in mercy, gentleness, and acceptance. In this covid-tired season, the Holy Infant still reaches out to us in gentleness.
Tender and mild. Throughout the earth may violence cease. May we all care for each other, tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace. And may the world and all its peoples rest. May heaven invade our world. May there be peace.
May we sing this song and live this song in our homes and our neighborhood and our communities.
Merry Christmas to you,
Pastor Cindy
