Good morning and
congratulations!
Today is the first day of
spring! We made it! Just to recap: we just came through
weekly snowstorms, two to three feet of
snow accumulations, lots of ice, and wind chills that sunk to record lows. We
have become experts in dodging potholes. Add to that a flu season
that made its way through just about every household.
And here we are. Spring.
There are robins in my yard and new green shoots are popping up in the flower
beds outside the church. Tonight around 5:30 there will be a Super Moon,
a beautiful way to announce WINTER IS OVER!
So how will we celebrate?
I have some ideas:
- Tonight join Morganne and crew for the “Left Behind” Pajama Party. If you were one of the people left behind during spring break come for a little beach party at WDMUMC. We will have snacks and watch Moana. Sorry, parents, this is not a drop-off. You are invited to stay for the fun too. Anyone know how to hula? 7:30 in the Friendship Room, oops, on Friendship Beach.
- We are Methodist and Methodists celebrate by helping others. March 30, April 13 and May 4 we will be remodeling a Habitat House here in our neighborhood. You can go to https://gdmhabitat.secure.force.com/volunteer/VolunteersJobListingFSC?jobId=a0G6100000IlL5t to sign up.
- Our Little Pantry is feeding families every day. The pantry is need of canned fruit, pasta and pasta sauce. Celebrate spring by putting food on someone else’s table!
- An older gentleman on the southside needs help putting his air conditioning in place for the summer. What a way to celebrate spring—getting the AC ready! If you like to help, contact me. This will take a crew of two or three people.
Celebrate a new season! See you on Sunday!
Every blessing!
